what to look for when choosing a course
Mood:  chatty
My Songwhat to look for when choosing a course. By Devin Willis Certified Protection Specialist There are many reasons why women ARE concerned with their personal safety. Unfortunately, there are many self-defense classes a student can choose . How can you, as a woman or a concerned man, find the right program without spending time and money on a class that would not work in a real situation? All it takes is some research and a lot of common sense (or women's intuition) to make sure the program you're interested in will teach you the proper information actually work in a real life situation. It is very important to realize Self Defense Tactics Self defense training has always been changing and improving, I believe you will find that even in the last ten years things have changed. At one time true effective self defense techniques were only for those in law enforcement and military personnel. As crime has been rising and when you or I pick up the newspaper and read all the frightening headlines. There has been a greater demand for effective self defense program. All though in the beginning of women's self protection programs consisted almost entirely of ( 85%) physical movements drawn from different martial arts systems. The first thing to consider, when choosing a self defense program, is the following steps. A good course covers critical thinking about defense strategies, assertiveness, powerful communication skills, and easy-to-remember physical techniques. The instructor respects and responds to your fears and concerns. Instruction is based on the belief that we can act competently, decisively, and take action for our own protection. Essentially, a good course is based on intelligence and not muscle. It offers tools for enabling a person to connect with her own strength and power. save your life
